Update - April 5th 2023

The Regional and National requirements draw has been completed. At the Ohio Cup we will be doing the FIRST and THIRD elements of the Requirements for ELIMINATIONS at NATIONALS. For example, Primary A Figures will do Figures 1 and 7A. Most events will be finals here, but if an event has both an elimination and final round at the Ohio Cup we will use the requirements for the FINALS at NATIONALS for the final round. For example if Freshman/Sophomore B Solo Dance has enough entries to call for an elimination round, they will skate the Valse Adante and the Fiesta Tango in the eliminations and the Mason March and the Southland Swing in the finals.

WS Junior Figures will skate Group 4 and WS Senior Figures will skate Group 2, with the loop skated last in both cases. The A/B drawing for both those events will be done at the beginning of the practice on Thursday, April 20.

At the Ohio Cup Level C skaters will use the elements listed in the draw for Regional Eliminations. If both eliminations and finals are necessary, the elements in the draw for Regional Finals will be used in the final event. For example, Level C figure skaters will do 1B and 112B.

Update - March 16th 2023

The FSC has determined that the draw for the requirements for the 2023 Regional and National Championships will be held on April 1. Therefore, we will use the results of the April 1 draw to set the event requirements for the Ohio Cup. For events which use only two elements, we will use the Group that is selected for the ELIMINATIONS at the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. For events with more that two elements, we will use the FIRST and THIRD ELEMENTS of the Group that is selected for the ELIMINATIONS at the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. World Skate Junior and Senior Figures will use the entire group which is selected for the ELIMINATIONS at the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS and the loop will be skated last. The drawing for the left/right foot selection for Jr. and Sr. Figures will be done during our scheduled practice on Thursday, April 20.

We will be adding three categories of events to the Ohio Cup this year. All PRECISION events will be added. We will also add co-ed TINY TOT Figures and Freestyle events. Tiny Tot Freestyle will have a máximum time of 2:30 with no content requirements or limits. Tiny Tot Figures will do Figures 1 and 2. We will also add ADULT ORIGINAL COMPULSORY DANCE events. PLEASE WRITE THESE EVENTS ON YOUR REGULAR ENTRY FORM to enter. PLEASE NOTE that it is our intention is to SCHEDULE ALL OF THESE ADDITIONAL EVENTS ON FRIDAY, time permitting .

The Roll Arena invites you to attend the 10th annual Ohio Cup Invitational April 21-23, 2023. This competition has become the widest drawing and biggest invitational in the country with representation from all nine regions and as many as 275 first entries. The Roll Arena is located about 10 minutes from the Ohio Turnpike and 20 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Our maple rotunda floor is 80 by 180”.

We boast an impressive panel of judges including David Adamy, Debra Adamy, Patricia Bauler, Tracy Black, Gary Callahan, Rachel Dols, Cecelia Kelley, Billy Mastriano, Dennis Nendza, Hannah Patawaran, Marc Snyder and Amy Waters. We will use Roll Art Lite scoring for all World Skate events.

2023 Schedule (Rev C)

Requirements Will Follow the National Draw on April 1st (See Welcome Letter)

Music Check In

To help with your planning, we expect to begin with a controlled practice on Thursday, April 20th, no earlier than 10 AM. Judging will start Friday morning at 6 AM after a roll around. Adult and Level B and C events will be scheduled on Friday although some of these events may spill over onto Saturday. We ask that if you register for an adult or Level B/C event that you plan on being available to skate at any time on Friday, April 21st.

All other events will run on Saturday and Sunday. To help those who may not want to arrive for the Thursday practice, our nearby neighbors at Lorain Skate World will schedule several practices. The details of those practices as well as the schedule for our own practice on Thursday, April 20th will be available on the rink web site ( as soon as possible.

As I write this, the FSC is examining the results of a survey to determine when the draw for this year´s regional and national requirements will be held. If the draw is available early in April, we will select our requirements from it. If it is not available until later, we will produce a complete set of requirements. In either case that information will be posted at where you will also find information on sending your music.

There are a number of hotels within 10 minutes of the rink. We have not yet been able to obtain any special pricing options for them. When we have more complete information, it will be available on the rink web site.

If you did not receive an entry form with this information, it too can be found at We ask that it be postmarked by Monday, March 21. Entry Fees are $30 for the first event, $25 for the second event, $20 for subsequent events, and $10 for combined events.

Should you have any questions, please email us at info[at]
